Stoford has been recognised at this year’s Industrial Agents Society (IAS) Awards for a new state-of-the-art logistics development at Ellesmere Port - and saw a special award for its former Director, Tony Nash.

The leading commercial property developer scooped Best Asset Management Initiative at the prestigious industry awards at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London held on Tuesday 26 September 2023. Its recently retired Director, Tony Nash was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award.

Stoford is nearing completion of a new 667,000 sq ft building, which is being developed on a 38.7 acre site at Hooton Park Airfield.

It will become a UK parts distribution centre for Peugeot, a subsidiary of the global automaker Stellantis Group, and is the biggest single cross-docked warehouse to be developed in the North West this year.

Stoford is targeting the highest level of building sustainability certification for the new development, including BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and an EPC ‘A’ rating. It will be certified as net zero carbon in operation for the base build works.

The development has been forward funded by Singapore Exchange listed Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (FLCT) and is being built by Winvic Construction Ltd.

Tony Nash has recently retired following a stellar career spanning nearly 40 years in the commercial property sector. It included roles at Carillion, Redrow and Wilson Bowden, before joining the newly formed Stoford in 1994.

Stoford Managing Director, Dan Gallagher, said: “We’re thrilled to have been honoured at this year’s IAS Awards. We are developing a purpose-built warehouse building with outstanding green credentials on an enormous scale. With a committed 15-year lease term to Peugeot, it will not only serve as a new national distribution centre but continues Ellesmere Port’s historic association with the motor industry.

“Everyone at Stoford is especially proud that Tony has been recognised by his peers. He is a hugely popular and respected figure in the sector, who has shown the ability to take a long-term view on a site’s deliverability, and the perseverance to see through deals that others might have passed on. We have enjoyed working with him enormously and wish him a very happy retirement.”

The IAS Awards celebrate the success and achievements of leading agents, owners, occupiers, developers and funders of industrial and logistics real estate and are widely regarded as the industry’s premier networking event.
