Stoford Developments has completed construction of a major new electric vehicle (EV) charging park at Exeter Logistics Park near Clyst Honiton.
The leading commercial property developer has delivered the new 415-space facility on behalf of an existing occupier at Hayes Farm, East Devon.
The park is equipped with 100 EV charging stations and has the infrastructure in place to become fully electric in the future. Features include a new jet wash system, sustainable urban drainage systems, with permeable paving and bio retention pits, and a new attenuation basin to discharge surface water.
The 18-week project included an extension to the existing estate road and associated infrastructure works.
The EV charging park is situated on a plot immediately adjacent to a new 90,000 sq ft distribution unit that was delivered by Stoford for an international online retailer last year.
Exeter Logistics Park is part of the second phase of a significant industrial scheme on 55-acres of land owned by the Church Commissioners for England. Phase one of the Exeter Gateway distribution facility, Lidl UK’s regional distribution hub, was opened in 2017.
Both sites are part of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point economic development zone east of the M5, near Exeter Airport. The scheme could contribute an extra £90m to £105m to the regional economy when complete.
