Stoford and Logicor have announced the letting of a new speculative development at Liberty Park, Widnes to an international packaging firm.

L108 is a 108,091sq ft Grade A warehouse building with integral office space, and has been let to a packaging products and systems company on a ten-year lease.

The new occupier will use the building to produce sustainable packaging in support of its growing ecommerce customer base.

Completed as part of the first phase of development at Liberty Park, Widnes, L108 was one of the only completed new-build unit over 50,000 sq ft in the Halton and south Liverpool industrial and warehouse market.

Stoford and Logicor have recently secured outline planning permission for the development of purpose built, high specification industrial and distribution units up to 360,000 sq ft, on an adjacent 18-acre site.

Widnes 360 will offer occupiers the choice of flexible options from 100,000 sq ft upwards. The development is located in the north west of the UK, with direct access to the national motorway network via the Knowsley Expressway at the heart of South Liverpool’s thriving employment zone.

Angus Huntley, Director at Stoford, said: “We are very pleased to have let the first building of the scheme and are looking forward to working with Logicor to progress phase two. Widnes 360 is an exciting opportunity in a premier location that will deliver high-quality industrial and logistics accommodation and unlock new jobs in the Halton and south Liverpool area.”

Tom Blakely, director, asset management UK for Logicor, said: “This is an exciting new addition to our UK portfolio with a customer leading the way in sustainable packaging, and we are very pleased to welcome them.

“We are now focusing on the available land nearby in Widnes and Lichfield which present ideally located build-to-suit development opportunities.”
