Children to receive sports coaching and opportunities in association with Birmingham & Solihull Bees Rugby Club.

Stoford, one of the UK’s leading property developers, has partnered with Community Group as part of a two-year programme of PE and sports opportunities for children in Redditch and Solihull.

The initiative, which will be delivered by Community Group in association with Birmingham & Solihull Bees Rugby Club, will provide opportunities for children to get active and receive high-quality sports coaching, with a focus on rugby union and rugby values.

The project will provide lunch time clubs and tailored PE and curriculum delivery, enabling children to develop a healthy habit of exercising and support a positive experience of sport.

It will also enable opportunities for wider out-of-school activities, such as pathways to play club rugby at Birmingham & Solihull Bees.

Community Group’s Area Manager for the Midlands & North, Chris Brannigan said: “We are thrilled that Stoford is supporting this fantastic initiative. We believe in the power of community engagement. Our aim is to get as many children active as possible, with pathways for out-of-school opportunities. This project exemplifies this and we are very grateful to Dan and his team at Stoford.”

Dan Gallagher, Joint Manager Director at Stoford, said: “Rugby is not only a fun sport to play, it also teaches important life skills as part of a supportive team environment. We’re very pleased to be working with Community Group and Birmingham & Solihull Bees to give more young people in our region the opportunity to get involved in the game."

Simon Price, Managing Director for Community Group Ltd. said: “We are proud to partner with Stoford who have shown a genuine commitment to want to encourage as many children as possible to become active and promote health and wellbeing.”

Also commenting on the funding success, Mini & Junior Chair for Birmingham & Solihull Bees Rugby Club, Pete Carr, said: “we are a club that wants you to love your rugby and play for fun. We want families to join the club allowing children to play and families to enjoy the outside and inside space. All players get an equal opportunity to be coached and play matches regardless of skill sets and experience. Give me a call anytime and we can chat through what is on offer and how you can become part of the Bees family”
